We've been in our temporary carriage-house-apartment home for a little over a week and love it. True, it's small, but it is quite efficient, and has everything we need. The outdoors is the major attraction for us anyway. We live a block from Central Park Lake, alive with water fowl, such as herons, egrets, wood storks, cormorants, anhingas, grebes, Canada geese, noisy gulls, and so on. The approximately 1.8 mile path around the lake is shaded by massive live oak trees, draped in flowing Spanish moss. These trees are home to several species of woodpeckers, hawks, ol' baldy (eagles), and the list goes on. We spend quite a bit of time on this path, as well as on the numerous other paths winding thru Southwood. It's a fun place to ride bikes, too, with plenty of trails!
