M.I.C. – K.E.Y ... M.O.U.S.E. March 6-8, 2012

It's a treat when my brother and sister-in-law, Rus and Anne, come from their home in Boston to Naples FL for the month of March, because that means we can meet them and play at Disney World in Orlando for a couple of days. And we did! We covered Animal Kingdom and Epcot and touched in on the Magic Kingdom for a short time. We could've used another week to REALLY do all we wanted. After our excellent two-hour French dinner in Epcot on Wed evening, we watched the spectacular nightly show on the Lagoon: llumiNations - pyrotechnics, lasers, fire and fountains. Oooh. Aaah. Wow. Pow! We had a terrific time.


Wise Words in a Magic Kingdom parade. The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is a special spring event brimming with colorful flowers, lush gardens and some favorite Disney characters brought to life in topiary! This beautiful 6' butterfly looks like it could be in the Rose Parade!

Riding in rugged open-sided vehicles on Kilimanjaro Safaris is a great way to see African animals up close on the savanna. Giraffes, lions, antelope, rhinos, warthogs, zebras, elephants and other exotic species roam the land. Above right are Mr. & Mrs. lion; left are Mom & Pop giraffes.


I feel a headache coming on just looking at this guy. Roseate Spoonbills - Mom on the nest, Dad sleeping... er, standing guard. Eggs ready to hatch in three-four days.

Aww, cute! Makes me hungry for spaghetti. Nope, here we are at Bistro de Paris at the French Pavilion in Epcot, where we each enjoyed - truly - a very fine dining experience. Bottom line: We ate well

Thursday morning, Rus and Anne continued on their way to Naples. Jimmy and I returned to Tallahassee for one last visit with friends before heading back to Daphne.
